salvaged red oak, cold-rolled steel, sapele, walnut

This structural beam dating from the 1860's features hand-hewn adze marks and hand-cut mortises. It was salvaged from a historic Bed-Stuy brownstone and stands upright once again. The beam features circular drawers on all sides, 13 in total, that were hand-turned from shop cut-offs. This piece was inspired by a much earlier work, Stary Kon.
